For summer term I decided fulfill the requirements I've been putting off since the day I came to BYU, that is my statistics and my advanced writing courses. All I had ever heard about principles of statistics was that it was quite a bit of work, and a little bit of a weeder course. But that isn't what I've run into at all, I do my homework in lab, which is also where all the learning takes place, I go to lecture because I get extra credit for it, also there's a guy I sit next to and can make fun of through out the lecture (he may or may not be cute ;) ) AND so far I think as far as my tests go at BYU, my statistics test is the one I've studied the least for and gotten the highest grade on. I haven't seen much of a down side, besides that it is a boring topic.
Next is my persuasive writing class. I often tell people I'm a Neuroscience major for a reason, that being that I don't like to write, but I'm starting to realize the previous statement is probably false. I quite enjoy blogging as a distraction from my studies and my persuasive writing papers are just logical rants written down, in which I can use amazing alliterations and cynical similes(points for an assonance). The point of my papers in the class are to argue and I feel I like it far to much.
For taking dreaded classes in Summer Term it has turned out pretty well, and I don't have to pay a fee to play intramurals. Double Bonus.
