100

I don't know what we have with the number 100 but for some reason it is a cause for celebration. I mean the 100th day of school was always the best. Anyways this is my 100th blog post, which because we have a weird obsession with the number gives cause for something special. So I decided to post 100 things that may or may not be blatantly obvious about myself. It's a lot of talking about me(which my roommates tell me I love to do) and it's going to be long but here we go.

  1. I love to cook and I think I'm pretty good at it.
  2. My favorite spices are cumin and smoked paprika.
  3. I love cooking for people, it's more of a challenge and I work harder for it to taste good.
  4. I've learned that although boys eat more, they are better dinner company because they are in general more appreciative of a home cooked meal.
  5. Sometimes I think the only reason people are friends with me is because I cook for them, but I can't blame them I would be friends with me because I cook.
  6. When I'm eating the food I cook I sometimes(according to Katie all the time) compliment myself on how good it tastes, what am I supposed to do, if you really enjoy a meal you should compliment the chef.
  7. I don't take compliments well, sometimes I think people are just lying to me to make me feel good and other times I just don't know what to say because thank you just doesn't seem to fit in the situation.
  8. I (like most people) am full of self doubt, some days I feel as if I have NO talents.
  9. Other days I think I'm the coolest person in existence. I'm a little bipolar when it comes to my humility.
  10. There is a difference of 84% of the lowest score and the highest score I've seen on the testing center screen. That might have something to do with my bipolar humility.
  11. Just talking about bipolar reminds me of the brain and how cool it is.
  12. I love being a neuroscience major, even though I will probably never do anything with the actual degree.
  13. I love learning, my favorite books to read are ones that teach me something. But not textbooks, they are written terribly.
  14. I love Biographies. I love learning what people know and finding out the cute stories of their life.
  15. I'm a sucker for cute stories. Once again this is like every other girl, if we didn't love them chick flicks would not make money.
  16. I'm not a hopeless romantic. I smile at a good love story, but I'm not a roses, chocolate and fancy proposal fan. Maybe it's because I've never had cliche romantic stuff done for me, or maybe it's because my dad proposed to my mom after a softball game when he was all sweaty and it's in my DNA.
  17. I think the cutest movie proposal is in While You Were Sleeping, I've had multiple people tell me they think it's cute but awkward because the family is there. But since she fell in love with the family I think it's perfect.
  18. I am a huge Michael Buble fan so I guess that qualifies me as a little bit of a romantic.
  19. My ideal date would be to cook a meal with my date while listening to MB and then take the meal to the park and eat picnic style and finish with tossing a football(or some other type of ball, peppering a volleyball, playing catch with a softball, hitting a tennis ball, we could go to a driving range or shoot hoops, just something semi active but relaxed enough that it's something you're doing while you talk)
  20. My ideal date is also very similar to my ideal proposal. Nothing too out of the ordinary, I don't want it to be fancy.
  21. I love it when the guy just picks out the ring and proposes. I don't want to go ring shopping, if I ever get to that point in my life he can ask my friends what I like and I might drop hints.
  22. I want to wear Nikes on my wedding day.
  23. I am apparently a hopeless romantic, but aren't we all
  24. Emphasis should be put on hopeless, but it is improving. I think i've nearly doubled the number of dates I've been asked on in the last month, we might even be up to 9(amazing I know).
  25. I had a bubble, and it was huge and thick. I did not like people touching me and I didn't like to touch people. I like my personal space.
  26. For my new years resolution this year was to decrease the size of my bubble, and although it is not the end of the year yet, I am going to say that I achieved my goal.
  27. I cannot flirt. I'm not sure when I'm flirting and when I'm not. Also, I feel stupid when I try to flirt, as if I'm dumbing myself down in order for boys to like me.
  28. I have noticed that I'm decent at flirting when I'm playing sports.
  29. I love sports and am most comfortable with myself when I am playing them.
  30. I've been told many times that I look like an athlete, just today someone asked me if I played tennis for BYU because I was holding a tennis racket. He definitely would not have asked that if he saw me play. I'm blaming it on my super comfy athletic sandals I was wearing.
  31. My body does not like sports, the only sport I've found so far that my body gets along with is golf.
  32. One of the reasons my body has against sports is that I bruise easily. Currently I have a massive bruise on my hand and on my shin. I'm pretty sure they are from my tennis racket. There is also one that is going away on my knee. When I got these bruises, my bruises from falling off a horse had just gone away. I don't know that there is a time I don't have a bruise.
  33. Kind of like there isn't a time when I don't have my toenails painted. Except for a couple days this past week). I think it was the longest time I've gone without toe nail polish in the last 2 years. My toes are once again painted.
  34. Although I have an obsession with sports, I can be very girly.
  35. I love heels. Especially high ones(like hooker heels). I wish I was six foot and when I wear high heels I am. I have more heels than I have skirts.
  36. It drives me crazy when I don't do my hair, thankfully my roommate taught me how to do a messy bun, solved my lazy problems.
  37. I love wearing basketball shorts(sweatpants in the winter) for everyday life. It's kind of a bad habit.
  38. I hate shaving my legs and I'm excited for winter when I wear pants and tights and I don't have to worry about it.
  39. I always thought tights and scarves were ridiculous when I lived in Arizona and then I moved to Utah and realized how great they are.
  40. I had a goal last year to not say a bad thing about snow for the winter and I accomplished it but now that winter is over and I'm not a fan of snow.
  41. I told myself at least every other day that snow was a wonderful creation of God and that's why I should appreciate it.
  42. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  43. I love my Savior and am so grateful for his eternal sacrifice. His atonement brings so much peace to my life.
  44. I love going to school at BYU and having a temple 5 min. away that I can go to each week.
  45. Some of my favorite weekends of the year are General Conference, I love listening to living prophets.
  46. My next favorite weekend is March Madness
  47. My hopeless romantic self wants to get married in March, the flowers at the Mesa Temple are prettiest then and then I can have my reception in a church cultural hall and not have to decorate much and have a March Madness themed wedding.
  48. March in general is just a great month. It includes Pi day and the birthdays of some of my favorite people(my family).
  49. I have the best family, I couldn't ask for better friends, than them.
  50. I also love the family that my brother added. Rachel you are awesome, Mark couldn't have found a girl that I approve of and love more than you.
  51. I have THE CUTEST nieces and nephew. Just thinking about them make me smile.
  52. I share my birthday with 2 of the coolest girls in the world. My Twin and my adorable niece.
  53. I LOVE being a twin, it's being born with a best friend who thinks just like you.
  54. I have switched classes with my twin 6 times, it all started in 3rd grade when we switched twice in one year. We got caught both times but what would you expect we were in 3rd grade.
  55. People still confuse me for my twin, and then tell me I look just like her.
  56. One of these days when someone comes up to me and tells me they know my twin, I'm going to act as if I have no idea what they are talking about and tell them I'm an only child.
  57. I like awkward situations far too much. I think they are funny.
  58. I like to think I'm funny, but entertaining is probably a better word.
  59. I like to think I'm pretty.
  60. I like to think a lot of things but I also realize that just because I think it does not mean that it is true.
  61. Like me thinking that guardrails combined with heights are scary. I'm not afraid of heights but I really hate guardrails that keep you from falling off the big heights. Something about them make me uneasy, mostly I'm afraid I'll somehow jump over them.
  62. I really don't have many fears, my twin is afraid of needles but i don't have a problem with them.
  63. Most nurses think I do have a problem with needles because I apparently look pale when they are taking my blood. This is because I am always really pale, it comes with having natural beautiful blonde hair.
  64. I love donating blood, I donate every time they call me or I see the sign for donation on campus and I have free time.
  65. It takes me under 5 min. to donate a pint of blood. My fastest time is 4 min 26 seconds.
  66. If I were to have a gruesome accident that caused me to loose blood, I would probably bleed out before I was able to get medical attention. Kind of a scary thought.
  67. The first time I donated I sat in the chair with the needle in my arm for 30 min and the bag wasn't even half full. They took the needle out because I was actually turning pale.
  68. I sometimes like to look when they put the needle in. Medicine fascinates me.
  69. I attribute my fascinations of medicine to being surrounded by it.
  70. I have planned my funeral 3 times, I planned the after party and refreshments in 5th grade when I had a wart on my foot and I thought I was going to die because I wasn't able to run, I added to my plans and picked out speakers when I had a brain tumor, and I picked out my musical numbers when I had pneumonia and was on the couch for a month.
  71. I think I received the most gifts in a weeks period when I was in the hospital for my brain surgery, I learned that people give you gifts when you're on your almost death bed. It might have also been because my birthday was that same week.
  72. I have two stuffed bears that I sleep with that I got in the hospital, Ken Griffey Jr. was the one I was given when they were drawing blood and I took into surgery. Big Bear is 3 feet tall and my dad's coworkers called and ordered him for me from the gift shop. A BIG security guard brought him into me, it was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Also I might have thought it especially funny because of the medication I was on.
  73. I also sleep with 5 pillows on my bed. Sometimes I wonder how there is room for me.
  74. When I first lay down to go to bed, I lay on my left side but right before I fall asleep(which is usually only like 5 minutes later) I roll to my right side.
  75. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and I've flipped upside down and my head is at the foot of my bed.
  76. All of my movement in my sleep is one of my attributing factors to how skinny I am. Sometimes I feel like I get in my daily exercise while I'm sleeping.
  77. Growing up Bethany and I would wake up with bruises because we would hit or kick each other in our sleep. (I no longer have that excuse when I don't know where a bruise came from)
  78. I will apologize now to my future husband, whoever it may be, if I beat him up during the night.
  79. Recently I have come to the realization that me thinking that married people are older than me is absolutely false.
  80. I will graduate BYU in the female majority. Single. Contrary to popular belief only about 30% of girls graduate married.
  81. I love random facts and percentages. Like as a girl I am 41% more likely to graduate college because I played an interscholastic sport in high school.
  82. My love for percentages and statistics might be the reason that Intro to Stats was so easy for me. Statistics is the class that I got the highest percentage on a test. I also had a pretty smart study buddy.
  83. I am also full of quotes. I have an amazing friend and most of our conversations consist of Psych and Bones quotes. Often times I will say something I think is funny and then when they don't react I realize that I quoted Psych and they have never watched the show. This also happens with Kid History.
  84. I love aprons, but I only own 3. I kind of need to fix that, plus 2 of them are seasonalish and so mostly I only use one. I've decided one of my next aprons needs to say 'Kiss the Cook' like the one on the cow in the Creamery logo.
  85. I love peanut m&ms, they don't stay very long when they are in my candy jar. That's why there are starbursts in the candy jar right now.
  86. Nerf gun wars are one of my favorite activity. I am also quite skilled at bouncing the dart off the roof to hit my target. Sneak Attack.
  87. My roommate started the tradition of collecting menus. Our first few we 'stole', I call it free advertising at our apartment. Now we always ask if we can keep them and they say yes. We just have a different definition of keep than they do.
  88. I'm very competitive. Most of the piano practice I did when I was taking lessons was because my mother or teacher would have competitions with me. I will compete in almost anything.
  89. I once got a blister from crocheting because I was trying to finish my afghan before Bethany.
  90. Although I was born and raised in Sierra Vista, AZ (which is really close to Mexico) I have never actually been to Mexico. I also have never been to the Grand Canyon.
  91. I can lick my elbow. I can also touch my elbows together behind my back while holding my hands together.
  92. I have no visible little toenail. When I have gotten pedicures they lady always looks at me and asks me how to paint the nail. Sometimes I paint my actual toe to look like there is a nail there.
  93. I love getting balloons. That was one of my favorite parts of being in the hospital was all of the 'get well' balloons I got.
  94. My car is named Esteban, he is a Buick LeSabre, and his backseat has doubled as a therapy couch on multiple occasions.
  95. My favorite packaged ice cream flavor is a toss up between Ben and Jerry's Cinnamon Bun and The BYU Creamery's Strawberry Sundae Crunch.
  96. When I was little I always wanted to wear glasses and then I got them and now realize what a pain it is to have terrible eyeballs.
  97. In high school they handed out ID cards 2 weeks after we got the picture taken. When I got mine I was upset because I thought they put Bethany's picture on my ID card because the hair was long. Then I realized that I had cut my hair.
  98. It drives me crazy when someone grabs a cup from the middle of the sacrament tray, I like it to be balanced and it throws the whole tray off. As long as I sit at the front of the chapel I get the tray before most people and it doesn't matter how balanced the tray is after it gets past the people sitting next to me.
  99. My favorite Disney movie is the Lion King, although I will not be seeing it in 3D because watching movies in 3D often gives me a headache.
  100. My favorite flowers are snapdragons
I've always loved the lion king, notice my shirt.
