I said I was going to talk about speech and language but that will have to wait because I found something else.
So today in Behavioral Neuroscience the topic was Neurological Disorders and the first thing talked about was tumors, the tumor part maybe lasted ten minutes and everything we discussed I knew when I was sixteen. Because of my knowledge on the subject I allowed myself to get a little distracted by the basketball game the kid next to me was watching online. Now before you judge me for not paying attention to class, I raised my hand to make a comment but my teacher never looked over to call on me, so apparently he didn't want my input. So today in class for me the subjects were tumors and basketball. When I got home my March Newsletter from National Brain Tumor Society and they had a story about a 12(now 14) year old kid who was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor. To raise awareness of brain tumors and support of research, he made a goal that took 18 months to achieve and that was to make a basket for every person diagnosed with a brain tumor that year. With the help of celebrities they made 63,000 baskets. Read the article here, I personally think it is a very heartwarming story. http://www.braintumor.org/news/latest-bt-news/justins-quest-final-shot.html
In other news today, I've obviously been watching basketball today. They were announcing the games on later today and for each matchup they would say the schools name except for the all important match-up being that kicks of on CBS at 5:15 MDT. For that they said Wofford vs. The Jimmer. I have a basketball shirt on today because of the game, although I did think about changing it because I got my nerdy neuroscience shirt today and it is legit. Tomorrow I plan on doing BAW presentation at a school, so I'll try to get a picture of me wearing my super sweet shirt.
Good luck with the presentation. I know it a cause very dear to you. Congrats on the WIN!
