| It was originally about Math, but I think it's just as true for Chemistry. |
I've come to the conclusion that my test scores don't indicate my lack of knowledge in science but rather my lack of knowledge in what the professor thinks I should remember about science. I can remember the molecular name for sugar, but ask me what amino acids work with BPG to manipulate O2 binding affinity in hemoglobin and I'm toast (although being toast is not as bad as it seems, I think toast is pretty good, I eat it every morning with peanut butter and nutella). It's all about what my brain deems important for me to remember. Like in the last section in biochem I knew all about how the hydrophilic and hydrophobic side groups of the amino acids that make up egg white proteins are the reason we can make meringue, this was material we went over in class but was it on the test, most definitely not.
Seeing as usually what I remember revolves in some way around food this is even more of a reason why I should become a chef (a pastry chef, to be exact). Although, I also remember the composition of hair and what makes it curly or straight so maybe that means I should go to hair school, I would already know the science behind it I would just need to learn the hands on stuff.
This leads me to my life last night, I did my roommates hair... for her date, which I didn't mind doing at all because I like styling hair but I'll be honest I would have rather been prepping myself for a date. Later that night because Katie, Dave and I lack in our Friday night dating lives we went out, while we were driving through a parking lot, Katie and I played the oh so common game where you joke about how many points you get if you hit the pedestrians that walked in front of you. She tells me she'll give me 25 points per person and 50 points for the tall guy, that's pretty good because usually it's only a point or two a piece. And then I realized why these people were worth so many points, yep it was Matt Carlino, Anson Winder and Brandon Davies, half of the starting line up on the BYU basketball team, they scored 33 of the 86 points in today's game; NBD, pretty sure the team could have survived without them. ;) Yeah, there's really no point to that story besides I found it entertaining.
Kind of like there is really no point to this post, but you read it anyway.
And just so you have something from every aspect of my life, I'll tell you that today I cooked Coconut Chicken with Apricot Sauce and it was delicious. Like most things I found it on Pinterest.

I've been wanting to try that apricot sauce recipe. Coconut chicken is also good if you add some crushed pecans to your coconut flakes.
