I LOVE YOU, ARIZONA!

On both my paternal (4th generation) and maternal (5th generation) side my family lived in Arizona prior to statehood. The Grand Canyon State is very much a part of me, and that's why I held an Arizona party in Utah. It's a big year, the centennial only comes once and I was not about to miss out on the festivities even if I wasn't in the state to celebrate.
So to commemorate the state I did what I do for everything else...I made food and spent all day cooking (after I took my Neuro Lab mid-term).

We had Homemade Chips and Salsa and Sonoran Dogs.

It takes quite awhile to fry chips
also if you put them in a grocery store paper bag people assume you bought them
Just try to tell me that doesn't look delicious. I am stuffed.
For the Birthday Cake, I made a marble cake and cut it into the shape of Arizona.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL
Yep I frosted it like the Arizona Flag. Pretty amazing I know.

Although it snowed on me today* and I would have rather been wearing shorts to celebrate Arizona's climate, being in Provo had one at least one advantage, Graham Canyon Ice Cream from the BYU Creamery. How fitting is that name...plus it tastes super delicious. We also celebrated with a great nerf gun war, because in Arizona we like our guns.

*I'm kinda ok with that because we went tubing for FHE last night and it was a blast
