Someday Someone Will Like Me for My Corpse

Apparently I do not know how to pronounce "quirks" correctly, and while discussing boys with my roommate is single I reassured her that it's ok someday someone will like us for our quirks but apparently that is not what she heard. She then tried to teach me how to say quirks and after her and others trying to get me to say it correctly, and repeating the correct pronunciation over and over again, I still cannot remember how to say it correctly. So I've just decided to stay away from using it in order to not sound morbid.

After a month of being hammered with dating/marriage talks and spending far too much time blog stalking a random single provo man's dating blog, I've decided to give in and discuss the topic a little beyond my comfort zone....DATING.

Now last year I probably had just as many dating talks and firesides but I didn't want them to apply to me (I was determined not to be the girl who goes to BYU and comes back to visit for Christmas with a ring) so I didn't really listen. However after much thought I have realized marriage is not a bad thing. Maybe it's because it seems that everyone and their mother is getting married(well hopefully their mother is already married) and I feel left out or maybe I have actually matured in the past year but if the opportunity were to present itself I would not immediately reject it as I would have at this time last year.

However, I do not need to worry about the above happening because I can probably count the number of dates I've been on on one hand and as I near the end of my 2nd school year at the Y, I have been asked out on a total of 1 date while I have been here(well probably 2, but I had to say no to one guy because I had already had a solid plan for the day he asked me out, and though we are still friends he never attempted asking me out again, even though I remember telling him we should do something some other time). Now I might have been out on what some may consider dates but they were situations in which I didn't know what to classify it as or it was set up by me choosing his tie/him picking my shoe in church(and these situations are still few and far between). Now I don't want to come off as too upset because for the most part I am ok with the situation, I find plenty to do with my time(now you don't have to wonder how I have the stats of the BYU Basketball team memorized). I'll admit though sometimes I wish I didn't know that James Anderson's shooting percentage is in the negatives, it is a little disheartening (both me not getting dates and the fact that I'm pretty sure he is on scholarship). I am starting to believe the 80/20 rule is very true in dating(20% of the girls go on 80% of the dates), if the margin is even that narrow.
I'm not sure what it is about me that sends boys running, maybe the excessive amount of cream puffs I make, very possible that during the month of march I spent as much if not more time on ESPN than they did, the fact that I think looking a brains is SUPER cool, or that my fantasy date is cooking together while listening to Michael Buble and then going to the park and tossing a football. It might also be that I'm a high D in the DISC profile and I have bubble issues, but I'm working on being more touchy, I really am, I just don't like feeling up a stranger. However, would one date hurt, so this is my plea to single men, ask a girl on a date. It DOES NOT need to be me(especially if it is in response to this blog, mostly because I'm pretty sure it's mostly family member reading it) and because putting a personal ad on your blog appears ten times more awkward and desperate (which i'm not) than joining ldssingles.com and I've vowed I have to be at least 25 and still just as single before I resort to that. (Although I know quite a few people it has worked out for and I'm thankful they joined)

Kind of a rant to start blogging after a drought in my blog but I've been trying not to blog about basketball.
