The Tree Is No More...

Since moving into the apartment we have had multiple people stop by and ask us if the tree was still on our wall, when we reply 'no' a similar response would come from everyone, "Sad, it was really cool, to bad they painted over it, I think you guys would have really liked it." It came to the point that some of my roommates when asked which apartment they lived in would reply 'the one that used to have the tree painted on the wall.' But the comment that really got me came when three guys came to invite us to family home evening, they stepped through the doorway and of course asked, "Is the tree still there?" and I replied, "No, but I heard it was really cool". They then said, "Yea, now this apartment looks boring." Three guys told me my apartment looked boring! So late Monday night my roommates and I had decorating discussion. On Tuesday afternoon we went to Walmart and bought paint and Tuesday evening we started painting. One of my roommates had a friend come over and he filled in all the holes in our walls before we painted.

We only had one roller and one paintbrush so with four people trying to paint it didn't work out so well . In the future I would not suggest trying to paint a wall with your fingers.

My roommates had these canvas safari posters and we decided we would have a safari theme so after we painted the walls red we were going through ideas of how to tie the room together and we thought we should paint a giraffe, but we decided to just go with giraffe print instead.

Here is my lovely room, the people before me so kindly decided to paint it green for us and somehow it got past the end of the year cleaning check. I personally like it and it matches the bedspread that the office gave me perfectly.
