Brad Paisley and Dessert Night

I'm not sure how I feel about a Brad Paisley bobble head being posted on a picture in front of the Temple but I guess that is what Salt Lake is known for.Saturday morning I woke up, got ready and was having a self pity party for myself because I was missing my family and still didn't really know anyone besides my roommates. So I went to the store to get stuff to make my dessert for sunday and was planning on coming home and having an exciting afternoon studying and watching the football game by myself. When I got home my roommate asked me if I wanted to go to a Brad Paisley concert because she had gotten some tickets. Um I'm pretty sure the idea was way better than anything I had planned, she then asked if I would skip watching the football game for it?...OF COURSE.

So she got the tickets because a family in her home ward had them but couldn't go so they gave them to my roommate's dad and he also had previous plans. I didn't think it would be so hard to find someone to go to concert especially since these weren't any old tickets they were VIP, but I was like the 6th person she asked and then she went through like a million other people trying to find someone who could go, but they were all at the football game so they all said no, only to regret their choice when BYU lost :(. We ended up going with a guy my roommate dated before he went on his mission and one of his mission buddy and it was lots of fun.

We got good parking because we were VIP plus food and GREAT seats. This is the stage from where we were sitting. It was so awesome. Jimmy Wayne and Dierks Bentley opened the show and they were both really good...
...Brad Paisley was AMAZING! What a great way to end the Summer! Even in the rain we had a blast.

We got home at about 1, so the thought that we didn't have church until 1:30 was great, but for some reason my body decided to wake up at 7:00. So I got up and made enchiladas and my dessert for our apt. dessert night. My roommates and I decided we should have a dessert night so we could meet people and it turned out to be successful. Mostly it was guys that came, I think we only had one girl that didn't live in our apt., but we didn't really seem to have a problem with that. The only downside was that once again I didn't get to sleep until after 12 and I had to get up early so I would be awake for my 7am class, so needless to say I am a little tired...but what would college be if I wasn't sleep deprived.

  1. Paula Deen's Frozen Banana Split...but I forgot to get bananas when I went to the store in the morning and I was planning to go back to the store that night but instead I went to the concert and we decided not to break the sabbath by buying bananas after the concert...the recipe called for six but we had two extra ripe bananas so i used that, it still worked out ok.
